Buttons – as seen at Lichfield & Liverpool Cathedrals

Thousands of buttons collected, gathered and laid individually, they collectively make up a large scale multi coloured installation artwork.

Artistically the button is used here to represent loss, and is adapted for multiple situations of representation in different locations. For example a single button being one object that can be found on a battlefield which can solely represents an individual life lost. On mass the individual buttons collectively make an uncountable array bringing home the mass extent of loss as a whole
